Hobo pie

The real hobo pie is a special kind of sandwich. Normally made in the firepit. A cooker with long handles attaches to iron plates (shaped like a small frisbee) on each side, it is attached together at the fire end of the utensil so you can securely close it before putting it in the fire. You place buttered bread in each 1/2 (to cut down on sticking), and between the bread any assortment of food (turkey and cheese, or ragu sauce with cheese and meat). Then close the handles to secure it, and roast it over your campfire. After a few minutes you open it up and pop out your authentic Hobo pie. Very popular in Midwest campsites, especially after late night drinking.

Hey man, are you done with that I need to make my Hobo pie.

Lucky we have two cookers, everyone wants hobo pie.

Bob) Hey what goes in hobo pie?
Fred) A piece of bread on each side, and whatever you want in between.

Many of us move away from Hoopie Town, but a lot of us end up being Boomerang Hoopies.

Hoopie

(n) someone who is very greasy.
(adj) someone who wears mini shorts and a loose shirt, or has a muffin top going on.
(n) someone who is trailer trash, shops at the good will, etc.

In Alliance, OH if you go to the Carnation Festival, you will see lots of hoopies wearing flannels, cut offs, greasy ass hair, not shaved face, and some might even have about 8 teeth or less.

Properly, a flee market in the town of Rogers, Ohio. Could be used to describe any are that hoopies are likely to shop, such as a strip mall with a Dollar General or a Family Dollar. Also frequented by trucks and dirtbikes and people sportin' the white trash 'stache

You: I need some ammo, a knock-off Versace bag, a funnel cake, a 300 pound hog and some fresh Amish produce.
Me: The only place you can get all that is the hoppie mall.

Hoopie

Origin: Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia where steel mills were prominent.

(n) A person who has a very low standard of living, gives absolutely 0 fucks about anything. Hoopies are often immune to illness and disease despite their inability to properly shower and brush their teeth. Although hoopies tend to be on the more unattractive side, they have a rather high level of self confidence, take pride in some sort of trade (that they are usually exceptional in), are usually above willing to help someone in need, and are uncomfortably comfortable around strangers... as in they say what they think and often times leave the house wearing stained or tattered clothing. Some women will often reject wearing a bra. Although this is not always the case, most hoopies lack strong ethnic traits and often have lightly colored hair and eyes.
