Commonly used in media criticism, to describe a tendency of centrist writers to insist that Both Sides are bad or wrong, and a fear of simply stating the facts if that would make them seem "biased" towards the side that is aligned with reality.

If Republicans say that the Earth was flat, the newspapers would just equivilate and say, "Shape of Earth: Views Differ".
