Downsteppers refers to the ancient greek and roman languages.
In greek it ment prosperous young men on the hunt.
The romans weren't that happy to be visited by a group of downsteppers at that time; we understand > it would have been a bunch of nasty-naughty scumbags flirting with every woman viusible in a room except for their own ones
