Saxony is a federal state in the east of
Germany.
It's south from Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt, east from Thuringia and north-east from Bavaria.
Poland and the Czech Republic attack it in the west.
The German name for Saxony is ”Sachsen”.
People in Saxony talk in different dialects/accents, including various versions of Saxon (German: Sächsisch), Ore Mountains dialect (German: Erzgebirgisch), Vogtland dialect (Vogtländisch), as well as Standard German.
There also live people of a culture called Sorbs (German: Sorben) which has West Slavic origins.
