phonic thug

anyone who uses his phone / portable audio device on public transport, forcing their fellow passengers to listen to horrifically tinny blasts of what are usually the lamest songs on the radio

offenders usually require multiple requests to lower the volume / turn off the device, and it always helps if more than one person gets involved.
"hey, kid! turn that shit off! damned phonic thugs intruding on my phone calls..."

"the ride sucked - some phonic thugs hopped on just after me, and that's gotta be the worst sounding crap i've ever heard. i'd be embarrassed if people thought i listened to that pathetic shit"

"dude - i'm trying to sleep / read / not tear your stupid phonic thug head off, shut that shit down or get off the damn bus!"

Phonics Monkey

The Phonics Monkey from that one episode of South Park where Cartman misspelled CHAIR in a spelling bee. When Cartman tried to get help from the phonics monkey, it just started beating off behind its drumbset.
A consumer report included the growing number of returns of the infamous reading product, the Phonics Monkey, which just turns out to be a degenerate species of bonobo chimp.

Hooked on phonics

A program used by children to learn how to read. It is commonly used to describe a person who cannot read or pronounce words correctly. Alternatively, it can be used to insult a person who doesn't read well.
I don't know how to pronounce this (fucks the word up horribly). You know I'm hooked on phonics.

Jane: reads from a history book out loud in class, but stumbles through the reading.
Classmate: This bitch needs to be hooked on phonics.
big booty bitch, freaky, very sensitive, cusses in ever sentence, will kill you in 2 seconds if you piss her off, hard-headed, but gives good head, BIG ASS

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.

An absolutely foolproof way to keep minors from viewing content deemed "too mature" for them to watch.
Billy: "So I was trying to watch some videos for an M rated game, and I ran into an age gate, so I put in my real birthday. SOMEHOW it managed to figure out that I am 12. CURSE YOU AGE GATE!!!"

Bill: "Fucking age gate! *quick scroll* THERE! I was born on January 1, 1904. Fuck you age gate."
