Ted Mosby-ed

When you tell a girl you love her inappropriately soon, like on the first or second date or during a first time hook up.
Unless she is the girl from swim fan she will most likely be freaked out by this declaration of love.
"Dude I messed up last night, I brought this cutie home from the bar last night and accidentally Ted Mosby-ed her mid makeout session. She just said she had to go, as it was getting late and left."

Verb. "to mosby someone". Telling someone (usually on your first date) that you love them in order to freak them out and deter them from having a further relationship with you.

Originates from the show How I Met Your Mother.
Robin: "I found out Barney loves me, what am I gonna do? It's gonna break his heart when I tell him I don't love him back."

Marshall: "Well, there's an option. High risk but high reward. You could mosby him."

Lily: "Oh no, she couldn't mosby him."

Marshal: "She could MOSBY THE CRAP OUT OF HIM."

Ted Mosby

- (v.) to prematurely say "I love you", the weight of which scares away you're romantic partner. May be done on purpose to overwhelm someone who is a potential partner and scare them away.

- (n.) A scheme to pick-up women by telling the target your story of being left at the alter during your own wedding. The story will generate enough pity and sympathy that would override the girl's better judgement.

Both definitions named after Ted Mosby due to his actions in the show "How I Met Your Mother".
Barney: Robin I want to be with you.

Robin: I love you!!

Barney: Woahhh, i think we should just be friends...WAIT you just Ted Mosby'd me!

Barney: sniff* I got left at the alter....

Ted: for all those keeping score, the Ted Mosby worksss!!

The Ted Mosby gets things going!
The act of confessing feelings for a girl way too early.

This term comes from the show How I Met Your Mother, after the main character Ted Mosby tells a girl he's interested in that he thinks he's in love with her after their first date.

Later in the series, the term "Mosbying" is coined after Ted's friend Barney hooks up with a girl at a party, doesn't want to see her again, and tell her he's in love with her to make her want nothing to do with him.
Guy A: I don't understand what happened. She seemed really into him. How did he scare her off?

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
