A euphemism for use of "Jesus" used to show that you are angry, annoyed or surprised or as an acknowledgement of another's situation in which anger, annoyance, or surprise is expressed.

Where as "Jesus", used in such a context, can be considered a swear word that many people find offensive, "Jeezers" is a concession towards softening that offensiveness. The usage is not derogatory. It is a replacement to avoid potential offensiveness in American English while not importing the use of "Crikey" from British English.
"...and then I got sick and the medical bill was over $50,000 and I had to remortgage my house and then my dog got ran over and Timmy lost his soccer tournament in the first round and I found out my husband was cheating on me and since he's my boss he fired me and I don't have any money to pay for doing my laundry."

An expression of mild surprise or shock from '60s-'70s. Popularized by cartoon character Velma of the '70s children's show Scooby-Doo. Rarely used today, except in an ironic fashion. A very wholesome word.
"Jeepers! You sure surprised me!" Claire exclaimed, then laughed along with her friends at the silly anachronism.
