homomania

The logical opposite of "homophobia". While "homophobia" is an unfairly negative attitude towards homosexuality, "homomania" is an unfairly positive attitude towards homosexuality, identifiable by observation of inadequate normalization or even idealization of homosexuality.

The redefinition of the legal term “marriage” to open up marriage law to same-sex couples was an act of homomania.

The process of trolling an online community with the intent to commit mayhem, while concurrently fooling enough of the community participants into thinking you actually have a point, albeit one made up of bad math and ridiculous ideas.

I gave up posting on that board, too much unchecked Hocomania going on.

hypomania

A less-extreme manifestation of mania, characterized by rapid speech, impulsivity, reduced need for sleep, overspending, hyperactivity, et cetera. Psychosis is not present. In Bipolar I patients, hypomania can be the precursor to full-blown mania.

"Honey? When you're talking at two hundred miles per hour about the philosophy of grape juice, I know you're hypomanic."

A compulsive obsessional fixation with ex-Knight Rider and Baywatch star and German pop idol David Hasselhoff. Becoming increasingly and worryingly common. In severe cases the Hoffomaniac retreats into an imaginary world of daytime TV amd excessive cereal eating where "The Hoff" is regarded as a Deity.

The spread of Hoffomania was crippling the economy.

An early retirement plan that features quitting a high-paying job before you've saved enough money to be financially-independent only to accept sub-minimum wage work to make ends meet and feed your family.

He's still working, but the hocomania has him thinking he's retired.
