Exurbs 

Master Planned Communities that lay outside the ring of city suburbs. Exurbs are where people can live in big, crappily built houses on the cheap, pretend to be rich yet shop at Walmart, while they spend 2 hours a day commuting to and from their highly mortgaged cribs. A place where a trip to the grocery store is a social event that involves a 10 mile drive.Where Daddy feels pressure to lease his teen a BMW, while he makes mom drive the 10 year old mini-van. A place where Daddy spends so much time in the car he goes ahead and installs a TV in the garage so he's more comfortable. An area where Mom never does anything except walk around the Exurb TownCenter in Her JUICY velvet leisure suit,with her 3x's too big ass and crocs. Hell.

I'd rather slit my wrists that live in the Exurbs.

exurbs 

1)The vast region beyond the suburbs where exorbatant amounts of money are made by owning land and requiring infrastructure before developers begin seeking acquision when the city and suburbs are so overrun by urban sprawl that another blade of grass will scarcely fit.
2)The defining body of future expansion

a nihilistic, somewhat inspirational, and funny guy, he is oddly smart considering he decided to get a degree in philosophy, so maybe he isnt THAT smart but he certainly makes content we can all either, laugh at, relate too, or kill ourselves to.

exurb 

A sparsely populated area, that is currently making the transition from rural to suburban, located usually on the fringes of a metropolitan area. Often times, it may be populated by wealthy estates, hobby farms, as well as existing rural towns, and usually with larger, more-mainstream suburban development on the brink of happening.

That exurb is growing so fast that the town can barely keep up the services to allow it to function.

\`ex`ur'bi'a\ n. The area outside a city, though much farther out than suburbia or the suburbs. (See exurbs.)

The farther out they went from the city, the sparser and sparser the houses became, especially when they reached exurbia.

exurban 

♦ Where people live who drive an hour to a well paying job.

♦ Where your neighbor's house is 100 ft from your own and both are 50 meters (164.041 feet) from the road.

♦ Where gated communities are built with 2 acre lots and the homeowners association is constantly in fear of non-conformity and people using that land to grow their own food as well as any landscape which is reverting to it's natural state.

♦ Where your neighborhood centers around a golf course and the closest retail is 4 miles (6.43737 km) away

♦ Where your zip code's tallest building rises 2 storeys and the population density never goes beyond 1,000 people per square mile.

♦ Where rich white people go in order to avoid ethnic minorities, same thing with their country clubs.

♦ Where the water table is irreversibly contaminated by all the lawn chemicals the residents use.

♦ Where the treeless lawn surrounding one's ranch house is used for parking, sports, and an area where one's many dogs and children can run wild and wreck havoc.

♦ Areas idealized by people like Frank Lloyd Wright and Joel Garreau (writer of Edge Cities).

♦ Areas reviled by people such as Paolo Soleri and James Howard Kunstler.

Land in exurban areas is used in the most wasteful, unsustainable and impractical ways. It's not at all uncommon for property owners to have a half acre of their spread paved over. I've even heard of aviation enthusiasts
