Elin acted courageously 

Refers to a situation in which your wife or girlfriend screwed you over/caused harm to you, but you don't want to lose face by admitting that she screwed you over, so you cover it up and make her out to be the hero/helpful. (May or may not be because she had good reason.

Dude 1: Wait, so bonnie didn't help you clean up your parents place after? That's what you told your folks.

Dude 2: Bonnie? Hell no - she messed it up. I just gave my folks the "Elin acted courageously" spiel, so I wouldn't have to hear about what a loser of a girl she is.

the disposition of one who feels bad about turning down advances from members of the same sex who have gotten the wrong idea, and so ends up leading them on further.

Person 1: Wow, John has been talking to that guy for a long time. I didn't know he's gay.

Person 2: Na, this happens a lot. He's not gay, just bi-courteous.

courageous flatulence 

A loud (often foul) retort to an unwarranted accusation.

Mellisa accused me of checking out her bff. While she was in middle of her tirade I answered her with courageous flatulence. She was left stunned, disgusted. The conversation concluded, the day won.
