Chumbawumba Challenge

The chumbawumba challenge is a drinking game that originated at Indiana University that is named for the band Chumbawumba and their most famous song 'Tubthumping.' During the chorus of the song the band sings "you take a whiskey drink, you take a vodka drink, you take a lager drink, you take a cider drink"

Those attempting the challenge are to take all four drinks while the song is playing and are to finish all four before the song ends. Sounds simple but in actuality is quite difficult.

The Chumbawumba

Succession of drinks that is based upon the popular 90's song "Tubthumping (I get knocked down)" by the band Chumbawumba. Where one drinks first a shot of whisky, then a shot of vodka, then a lager (beer), and finally a drink of hard cider, in quick succession. This is taken directly from the lyric in the song " I drink a whisky drink, I drink a vodka drink, I drink a lager drink, I drink a cider drink. The Chumbawumba is always announced by the chanting "Chumba, Wumba, Chumba, Wumba!"
"Yo man have you seen John?"
"Yea he is passed out in the corner. He did the Chumbawumba earlier tonight.

Chumbawamba

British anarchist pop muscial group. Founded in 1984 in Leeds, England. The number of members has hovered around 8-9.

Although Chumbawamba is often brushed of as a one-hit-wonder of the 1990s, they remain a potent producer of catchy, melodic pop. Unknown to most is that their are deeply devoted political activists, feared by conservatives big and small. Self-described as 'progressive anarchists,' they have, since their founding, become the subject of countless police raids.

A very talented and underappreciated musical outfit. You may not see them on the Top 40 again or agree with their radical leftist views, but their musical talent and political fever still inspire an admirable eye.
Dudette #1: Hey, Chumbawamba's on the radio! Man, they never produced anything else did they.

Dudette #2: Actually, this is just their only hit. They have 13 albums, 7 of which were made after this.

Dudette #1: Oh.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
