One of the virginal women in Norse Mythology who searched the battlefields for the souls of dead men fit to become einherjar (pronounced ine-hair-ee-are), which were then taken up to Valhalla (the equivalent of heaven) and trained to fight in the battle of Ragnarok (equivalent of apocalypse). Also served wine and food to the einherjar in the great hall.

Valkyrie

From Old Norse. Literally means "Choosers of the slain." Disir who at Odin or Freyja's command, select the most heroic warriors on the battlefield to die and conduct their souls through the Underworld to Asgard. (They also lead people who have died from other causes other than violent death on the path to Valhalla. They are psycho pomps.) Once there, they serve mead to those who have become Einherjar.

Often seen as riding wild wolves, or in some accounts soaring though the air like a raven scavenging for souls; Valkyries are beautiful shieldmaidens armed with helmets and spears. Although beautiful, they are war-like. Names of Valkyries often mean 'raging', 'shrieking', 'screaming', etc...

Operation Valkyrie

Adolf Hitler's contigency plan to keep the NSDAP in power, in the event Germany was overrun by a uprising/ foreign force. The plan would be authorized by either Hitler or the General of the Heer (Army) Resrve, the plan would have all reserve soldiers and Waffen/ SS troopers secure key parts to the Reich's leadership.
- Colonel Claus Von Stuffenberg, General Olbricht, and the other July 20, 1944 (Hitler Assissination attempt) changed Valkyrie to exclude the SS from the plan, therefor, they could use the Heer to seize control of the Government and stop the Nazi Party (Without them even knowing it) the plan, needless to say, failed and over 5,000 where executed.

Operation Valkyrie was a key part to the July 20th plot.

Adjective. Used to describe persons who have adjusted or altered their lifestyle for environmental reasons. Crunchy persons tend to be politically strongly left-leaning and may be additionally but not exclusively categorized as vegetarians, vegans, eco-tarians, conservationists, environmentalists, neo-hippies, tree huggers, nature enthusiasts, etc.

Also used to describe establishments where alternative foods and products are sold, i.e. natural food stores.

Modified derivative of granola.

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.

DM: The sad little orphan girl tugs at Steve's trenchcoat to get his attention, and ask for help saving her pet dog from...
Steve: I'd like to roll a strength check against strangling the orphan.
Dave: I call dibs on the dog.
DM: You murderhobos disgust me.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

A whale is typically identified at first by a whale hunter on the sales team, but often requires cross-discipline participation in order to close; this includes assistance from operations, engineering, creative, client success, and business development teams.
