The Notch

Slang shorthand for the campgrounds surrounding Franconia, New Hampshire, specifically Franconia Notch. Located in northern New Hampshire, in the White Mountains, The Notch is a decent place to stay for a weekend of camping and fishing. Plenty of streams nearby on Route 93 and each camp ground has a decent amount of privacy. Aggressive squirrels abound.
Zack was surprised that we had skewered fluffy, but what did he expect? This was the notch, after all.

Kyle: Meh. She was just another notch in the bedpost.

Notch on the Cuddle Belt

The female version of a man putting another notch on his belt/bed post. The female version means the couple spent the night together but no sex was involved, only intimate pillow talk and/or sharing of feelings. You do NOT want to be this guy. (also see "cuddle bitch")(a girl is to a "dirty slut" as a guy is to a "cuddle bitch")
Bitch 1: "Lauren you slut! I can't believe you let him plug you that easily! Make him work for it next time for fuck sake!"

Bitch 2: "Haha, oh it's okay. We did absolutley NOTHING but talk all night about marriage, gossip, and the new Twilight movie all night long."

Bitch 1: "Oh... I see, well atta girl! That's another notch on the cuddle belt."

Of course other words are sometimes added to the term such as "biotch"

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
