Videos staged (often by couples) to simulate shocking pranks or socially unacceptable behavior for the express purpose of gaining views and attention.

I swear, most of those exploding Amazon boxes are just Stagebait.

sharebait

Any post on a social networking site (typically a puzzle, optical illusion, political question, inspirational story, etc.), that asks for the user to share it with friends on the site, with the supposed objective of getting as much exposure or attention as possible. Similar to the "you will die if you do not repost this comment x number of times" posts also seen frequently on social networks.

"Peggy, stop sharing every piece of sob-story sharebait you see on Facebook. It's fake and it's been circulating for years."

stagetite

A comment from a troll that intends to put down someone with greater talent. To be read, "talent" (the greater might be saddle up against a complete void), in that there might be a complete absence in the troll's CV which will inevitably include character actor and trained with Second City Chicago. The training is most often as waitstaff.

The latest heat wave has brought out a fresh crop of stagetite putdowns from a fresh crop of talentless wannabee comedians on Twitter...or as I like to call it, the extension of their mother's basement couch nest provided in sympathy for "their situation".

When a girl is kind of ditzy and gets put down. But, she doesn't really know what the put-down meant or how to fire a good come back. So, in turn, she uses the word "starbait" to look cool, but she never does!

Guy: Hey girl, shut up or I'll give you a California Golden Seal!

Girl: Um.... you shut up you Starbait!

Guy: You're a freakin idiot. Get away from me!
