An abnormal fear of research design and statistics—prevents publication, tenure, and scientific recognition. The word was originally coined by Prof. Ron Laporte of University of Pittsburgh and popularized by the "Supercourse" of Epidemiology team.
Stataphobia is probably a major cause of low output of scientific publications from developing countries.
