The uncanny ability to incorrectly remember a phrase, but upon applying it to a situation, doing so with such conviction that the person it is said to suddenly questions whether their knowledge of said phrase was correct in the first place.

When an group of insiders have held a particular authority for a long period of time are suddenly faced by a revolt not just of designated 'bad people' but of everyone in the same field tired of their constant refrains of being 'oppressed' despite their being the actual oppressors and suddenly and brutally lose their previous authority.

When two men share the same room and sleep on different beds, they eventually get to know each other and discover their homosexuality. After having gay sex, the taker is considered to have had his "Mattress Popped", and therefore sleep on the same bed afterwards.

Makes more since if one slept on an airbed beforehand, where the definition comes from.

Brent: Hey, do Matt and Shane still live together in two different beds?

Shawn: Nah, Matt gave Shane a Popped Mattress and now they share a bed.

Basically, to use it, suddenly end your story with ", and then a skeleton popped out." Instant horror story.

I went to walk my dog, and I couldn't get the front door to open AND THEN A SKELETON POPPED OUT!
