A term evolved after a conversation between two lovers discussing the unwanted resurgence of one of their ex partners; who seemingly simply refuses to go away. 'Pasticide' describes the feeling of frustration for the person who ended the relationship; but still must deal with their ex partner's presence in their life. British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
