Parnate is a drug that is an MAOI (MAO Inhibitor, MonoAmineOxidase-Inhibitor). The dose range is 30mg to 60mg daily (in divided doses. The starting dose is 10mg to 30mg a day. Parnate inhibits the breakdown of Dopamine, norepinephrine,, and Epinephrine (Adrenaline). In addition, parnate releases dopamine and norepinephrine, making it 1/10 the strength of amphetamine. Parnate is also called tranylcypromine
