Onlame

The pathetic state of desperately seeking validation through embarrassingly try-hard online behavior. Describes someone who has completely lost the plot on social media, posting cringe-worthy content while thinking they're absolutely brilliant.

Origin: Fusion of "online" and "lame," coined circa 2022 when people realized social media had evolved from sharing life moments to manufacturing them. Primarily used by Gen Z and millennials who are self-aware enough to recognize the behavior but definitely still guilty of it themselves.
Example 1: "Did you see Gary's 15-part thread explaining why his fantasy football team would've won if the ref hadn't been 'biased'? Proper onlame behavior, that."

Example 2: "She spent four hours staging a 'casual breakfast' photo with her laptop open to a spreadsheet just to look productive. Absolutely onlame, innit?"

Example 3: "He's been refreshing his likes every 30 seconds since posting that selfie. Man's gone full onlame."
