A sub-genre of drum n' bass which emerged between 1997 and 1998 in London, England as a progression of techstep that orginated with Ed Rush & Optical. It usually features a more polished sound than techstep with consecutive stabs over the bassline and razor-sharp backbeats along with a very organic and alive vibe to it. Leading artists include: Noisia, Jade, Black Sun Empire, Mefjus, Telekinesis, Aggressor Bunx, Phace, Billian, and Audio

It usually uses harsher and darker sounds and synths than techstep, and is generally spinned at a faster bpm to create a psycho-killer effect. It is the most heavily distortioned drum 'n bass. It is the preferred style of drum 'n bass for the criminally insane, eastern-europeans and russians. Leading artists: Noisia, Spor, Engage, & Custom Soldierz.

Neurofuckologist 

A Neurofuckologist is a person who has a talent for literally fucking with people's minds, as confident and convincing liars, they will wrap their lies in a thick veil of facts that can easily be proven, or appear to be. Their skill of verbal prestidigitation, word tricks and confusion, whilst their talent as a cunning linguist snares the unwary. Neurofuckologists aren't exactly evil, to the given value of evil, because their goal is the delight of wordplay, not of malice. They can't help that you were fooled by them and... the revel in it.

Beware of Steve, for he is a Neurofuckologist and he will play you like a finely tuned violin... he will have you dancing like a puppet before you even know you are snared.

Person who uses neuroscience to persuade the public to buy miracle cures for brain illnesses, usually with the aid of colorful brain scans and terminology that most people don't know enough about to refute.

Neurohuckster Daniel Amen claims that you can prevent Alzheimer's using a method that begins with getting a SPECT brain scan in his lab, despite a lack of scientific evidence for any type of prevention of that dementia.

Necropunk 

Comes from words necrosis, meaning death, and punk, which is a popular suffix used in science fiction subgenres.

Necropunk is a steampunk-like subculture in science fiction that refers to a post-apocalyptic world in which there can be a lot of unknown scientific technology, such as weird looking vehicles, utopian architecture, artificial body parts, robots, androids and even man-made photosynthesis. Necropunk combines many elements from other -punk subcultures like steampunk, cyberpunk and biopunk, but is definitely its own genre. A good example of typical necropunk is Mad Max movie series.

Neurofundamentalism

The belief that neuroscience provides the ultimate, unquestionable foundation for all other disciplines that study human beings (psychology, sociology, economics, law, education). The neurofundamentalist believes that in the future, all human sciences will be “reduced” to neurobiology, and that today we should already reform public policies, educational practices, and legal systems based on still‑provisional brain findings. It is a form of fundamentalism because it treats neuroscience as a fixed base, immune to external criticism. It overlooks the fact that neuroscience itself depends on psychological and social concepts.

Neurofundamentalism Example: “A neurofundamentalist proposed that schools use neurofeedback to ‘optimise attention’. The pedagogue replied: ‘What about teacher‑student relationships? Content? Context? You’re grounding everything in the brain – that’s reductionist fundamentalism.’”
