Memephilia

"Memephilia" or "Fred's Syndrome" describe the pathologically obsessive hoarding of memes. The disorder is named after the famous 21st century Empress of Memes Fred E Mercury who is reputed to have accumulated 48 terabytes of memes in her lifetime. A spokesperson from the Royal Australian Society of Memeology said that the dumping of Fred E's memes at the time of her abdication from the throne is reported to have slowed internet traffic globally for an hour. The spokesperson announced that 400 metre high statues would be unveiled in Meme Square in Moscow (formerly Red Square) and in Beijing (formerly Tiananmen Square) in honour of the Empress

Facebook has many members who show signs of memephilia, often to the extent they are unable to communicate in plain English due to continuously gathering, drooling over, then disseminating memes.

A sexual and possibly romantic attraction to Internet memes. Memes are often used in fetish play between two or more memeophiliacs. The more dank the meme, the more desirable, attractive, and pleasure inducing it is. The rarity of the meme also plays a large role in how erotic it is, to some members of the memeophilia community.
