A lot of times, an introvert is thought to be an extrovert simply because they get lonely to the point they seek people out. This is why introverts are often at parties or out and about even when other people are not.
Some people thought the guy/girl that did the commercials seemed outgoing, energetic, and extroverted, when really the guy/girl was actually a lifelong intravert.
Person 1: Jamie barely talks yet she causes so much fighting in our group, she's so introversial!
Person 2: No she's not, DO NOT talk about her that way!
Person 1: See? It's happeningright now, it's like she's Miss Introversial!
An introvert prefers to spend time alone in order to recharge their inner being. An introvert may appear to be shy to others, but that is not necessarily an accurate label. Being among groups of friends, family and even strangers can be wonderfully stimulating and joyous occasions. Interacting with people and attention to multiple sources of stimuli tends to draw down an introvert's energy causing them to eventually withdraw to spend time alone to re-energize. Small talk and pointless conversations tend to draw down an introvert's energy rapidly.
Typically, the person that no one understands. Introverts are often commercialized into the people who "sit at home watching Netflix all day." On the contrary, the real introvert is the person who thinks deeply, keeps to themselves, and feels depleted by social situations. The opposite of an introvert is an extrovert.
