Hipstercrat

A self-proclaimed sect of hipsterdom in which the individual recognizes he or she is a hipster with an almost aristocratic air hanging over them. Rather than rejecting the title of hipster, they accept it but seek to distinguish themselves from the broey bastardized hipsters that tend to birth out of frat houses. Characterized by a superior taste in music that encompasses a broad spectrum of genres that range from folk to variants of house. They avoid shameless wobbles known as American dubstep at all costs and love IPAs/home brewed alcohol.

hipsterati

a term derrived from literati, i.e. a person that uses his acumen to investigave deep issues of human existence. In this case, the hipsterati use their acumen (and we use this term lightly) to keep up on the pressing issues of the latests microtrends. They tend to move in "too-hip-for-thou" cliques and pass judgement on what is and isn't in.

-How was the show last night?
-It was amazing, but it was so crowded because the Hipsterati were out en masse!

Noun: a state of confusion and dismay that occurs when a hipster realizes what they are.

A hipster on the road to recovery will typically stop at hipsternation.

Hipsternation can lead to a reaffirmation of hipsteric tendencies combined with mainstream culture to create a hybrid hipster (i.e. hipster-hopper, hipster-gangsta, etc.)
