In 2024, the Generation Z demographic in Kenya rose to oppose the kakistocracy rule by the government of the day. They first rejected the Finance Bill 2024 and subsequently opposed bad governance marked by overtaxing, overspending on unnecessary expenditures rather than development, tribalism, classism, and ruling based on personalities instead of principles as enshrined in the Kenyan Constitution of August 27th, 2010. The term "Zii" means "no" or "refuse," and in this context, it signifies rejecting the harmful systems governing the country. "GenZii" identifies the generation that stood up against impunity in 2024, highlighting their defining action of rejection.

The term GenZii in Kenya is the definition of the cross-generational resistance against corrupt and inefficient governance in 2024 as led by the age demographic GenZ.
