Gallup, New Mexico

Gallup (Navajo: Naʼnízhoozhí) is a city in McKinley County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 20,209 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of McKinley County1.

Gallup was founded in 1891 as a railhead for the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad. The City was named after David Gallup, a paymaster for the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad. It is the most populous city between Albuquerque, New Mexico and Flagstaff, Arizona.

Gallup is sometimes called the "Indian Capital of the World", for its location in the heart of Native American lands, and the presence of Navajo, Zuni, Hopi and other tribes. One-third of the city's population have Native American roots. Gallup has references the huge impact of the Native American Cultures found in and around Gallup.

Whew! We have such a long drive from Window Rock to Gallup, New Mexico.

Gallup High School

A school filled with Natives and is pretty clean but a lot of drug dealers and people who dont care for school who have to show up. Kids talk wack and dont know grammar.

Bassist of the band the cure, robert smith's best friend. He had been kicked out in 1982, Smith and him got in a fight at the pub and they just grew apart, later Smith asked for him back in 1985 to make <i>The Head On The Door</i> and he hasn't been kicked out since then, he was once replaced during the Wish tour because he became extremely sick and Roberto Suave replaced him, but that's it, seems like he's there to stay!
