Expertism

An exaggerated trust in "experts" to the detriment of one's own critical thinking; a neediness for "experts" to validate a course of action, else that action should be suspect; a dependence on "experts" that suggests a lack of confidence in oneself; a worldview that is over-reliant on "experts." "Expertists" affirm expertism and will likely ridicule those who reasonably question "experts."
Expertism characterized the Covid era, as gullible people unquestioningly followed ever-changing guidance from "experts."

Experimental Internet Gas

This is an absolutely baffling term originating from Marvel's New Warrior's comic reboot. The experimental internet gas gave a character called Screentime (a meme-obsessed teen superhero - literally) his special powers after his grandfather made the gas. This is a legit Marvel creation.

What.
"A Meme-Obsessed super teen whose brain became connected to the internet after becoming exposed to his grandfather’s “experimental internet gas.” Now he can see augmented reality and real-time maps, and can instantly Google any fact. Does this make him effectively a genius? He sure acts like it does."

experts say

A way to cover up bullshit by making the broad statement, "Experts say", then the bullshit.
As nobody has any idea which experts they were referring to, or what level or expertise they had, it is a great way to cover up not having a distinct source for the information.

Experimental MRE

Military slang for a "sensitive item" (ie weapon, GPS, radio) that has been lost in the field or stolen. Jokingly referred to as an Experimental MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) which are field rations.
Bravo Company lost an Experimental MRE. They're on lockdown until somebody finds them.

experts say

A tired trope that is used in hundreds of headlines a day. The phrase that journalists deploy to be able to say whatever they want, without the need for proper sources. Most of the time, this phrase is used in the headline, or one time in the body text, without said experts ever being identified or mentioned again.

Serial Experiments Lain

One of the best anime to come out of Japan during the 1990s. It is not for anime fans whose main interests lie with shows with lots of action or romance. This is one of the most thought provoking shows ever, as it explores philosophical ideas such as the nature of reality, perception, solipcism and the idea of God. As usual with these types of shows, prepare for lots of philosophical exploration, psychology and several instances of mind screw. It is one of the more experimental shows to come out as it shows heavy use of surrealism and avant-garde. It also combines those philosophical and experimental ideas with those of cyberpunk. The creator and main writer of the show also went on to write other thought-provoking classics such as Texhnolyze.
Serial Experiments Lain is certainly one of the more brainy and thought-provoking anime to ever come out but prepare to be confused at certain parts of the show due to its mind screwy nature.
