A "fat
sandwich" made by the "grease trucks" of Rutgers University which consists of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and french fries with marinara sauce all on a sub roll. Sometimes server with lettuce, onion, and tomato. The
sandwich was invented in 1997 by a student named Darrell Butler, who owns the rights to the recipe and the
Fat Darrell name. The sandwich was named the best in the country by Maxim magazine.
When I was a
freshman, I could barely finish one
fat darrell, but by the
time I graduated from Rutgers, I could eat two.
