algorithmic critical mass

algorithmic critical mass — the Urban Dictionary principle that states: the more words you enter into the Urban Dictionary, the easier it is to add words to the Urban Dictionary.

This is especially true if you make the words you add refer to your previous words based on known linguistic principles. In this way the algorithm reflects aspects of your mind; and your mind becomes one with the algorithm as well.

There is something more frightening than artificial intelligence and that is computer intelligence that merges with the mind of humankind.

What happens when infinite computing power merges with the full potential of the brain. I don’t know because I waste my mind on adding Urban Dictionary entries instead of contemplating more weighty problems.

But you have got to admit that that is an awesome Afrofuturistic observation.
If you add enough word to the Urban Dictionary you will reach an algorithmic critical mass where the algorithm will reflect your mind; and, your mind will reflect the algorithm.

random crit

An occurrence of a critical hit happening at a seemingly arbitrary time. This phenomenon is usually associated with games such as Pokemon, Team Fortress 2, and other games.

More often than not it is viewed as a crutch/dumb luck and as quick relief from a situation that would otherwise result in your failure or death.

applied critical analysis

Some new phrase PDEng administration decided to coin together in the hopes that the prospective students will consider the program a useful feature that teaches a complicated worded concept.

Widely confusing innocent students with its meaninglessness as no employer in the entire globe has never heard of the term.

A reason why U of Waterloo co-op rate is going downhill on a term-by-term basis, since companies regard its students as the new "Pennsylvania Dutch" who talk in their own "PDeng Speak." Now who's fault is that?

See Bukkake for details.
"wtf is applied critical analysis anyways? I googled it and the first result was PDEng. Think you're so innovative because you're inventing new phrases?"

constructive criticism

Fortunately, there are several excellent methods for giving constructive criticism that are unlikely to trigger bad feelings. Since requests go a much longer way toward achieving cooperation than snide remarks, put-downs and negative declarations, the first method of constructive criticism is to request a specific change in the future instead of pointing out something negative in the present.

A technique of constructive criticism is called the "sandwich method" in which one sandwiches the meat of a criticism between two positive comments.

Hence, instead of saying "You did a lousy job writing this report," using the sandwich method one could say "You did a great job on the introduction, but the middle section and conclusion seem a little weak. With a bit more work, I'm sure you can tighten it up into a really good report."

It's also important to keep in mind that how you say things matters as much as what you say. If you want to deliver constructive criticism skillfully it's helpful to practice using "I-statements" rather than "You-statements”

destructive criticism.

To summarize:

Try the "sandwich method" as much as possible.

Practice requesting positive change in the future instead of complaining about current behavior.

Deliver your messages in the form of I-statements rather than You-statements.

Finally, keep in mind that giving criticism is a skill that, like all skills, can be mastered through learning and practice.
