City Life

A phrase used by rich (jewish) suburban girls who live in the city for the summer during their college years. Mind that every single expense is paid for by their parents.

City Life entails:

1) an unpaid internship wish a fashion designer or some kind of financial firm.

2) extreme alcohol fueled promiscuity with long lost camp friends.

3) expensive dinner bills.

4) even more expensive shopping bills.

Life In The Big City

What you say when you have lost your idealism and your find yourself as many people do: In a room drinking wine out of a burger king cup with ice in it, smoking a pack of Marlboro Reds a day and saying the N word.
Tim's Mother: "The cops are probably going to raid the house because they are running a pretty big coke operation upstairs."

Dennis: Life in the Big City

Tim's Mother: "Your kids who you haven't seen in five years called you. And because you were so drunk, they hung up the phone, and they never want to speak to you again."

Episode 164 Life In The Big City

That's life in the big city

It's a line from the 1987 film RoboCop. Spoken by an executive of a weapons manufacturer immediately following the death of his colleague at a failed demo of their new mechanized law enforcement robot. The character exemplifies the callous, dog-eat-dog mentality popular amongst business execs in the 80’s. It borders on sociopathic — similar to the nature in which Patrick Bateman speaks in American Psycho.
Cox: Too bad about Kinney, huh?
(Kinney shot to death by mech minutes ago)
Morton: *shrug* That's life in the big city.
The grindset is a contemporary ideology of self-exploitation disguised as strength, deeply tied to the aesthetics of the “sigma male” and to new digital forms of patriarchy. It promotes the idea that human worth depends on productivity, economic success, absolute emotional control, and the ability to work endlessly, turning vulnerability, rest, community, and tenderness into signs of weakness. Beneath its rhetoric of discipline and power often lies a profound inability to relate healthily to pain, fragility, and human interdependence.
“That’s the grindset, brother. While weak men sleep and complain, sigma males stay disciplined, work in silence, suppress emotions, and build power while everyone else wastes time chasing comfort.”
