Verb. (Etymology : Appetere = to call for love) Used among the young caucasians to express the will to call a restaurant when booking a table for two people before asking the love of their life for their hand and eventually marry them.

When you are at a holiday gathering and you are hoping that there will be DINNER but, no, just those itty-bitty snacks and you must eat millions in order to feel satiated (much like whales and plankton)
