Anti-virus

Software forced onto the unsuspecting masses to combat Viruses. Usually written by ex-virus writters who needed a steady income.

Differs from viruses in intent, and cost. Viruses are usually free, whereas anti-viruses are not. Anti-virus software also tends to have a flashier interface.

Both software types will severely impact your ability to do anything productive, both will occasionally greet the users with unwanted popups, add web tool bars, provide inaccurate (but sponsered) search results, and keep your local IT shop in business.
"The new server anti-virus installed succesfully on the first try. Unfortunatly we couldn't access anything anymore, but we were protected, and that was the important part.

Norton Anti-Virus

The MOST overpriced, overrated piece of shit antivirus on the market. Norton is probably one of the biggest piece of bloatware (programs that Hog up way more memory than it needs to) on the market. Plus Norton also gives more false positives than any other pay antivirus. If you want a pay-AV you have to go with something like Kaspersky, which most hackers actually swear by, and it does not hog up memory like Norton.
Jim: Do you have Norton Anti-Virus on your computer?
Scott: No, it's bloatware. I personally use Kaspersky as it's much more lightweight than Norton and also has the best record when it comes to false positives.

Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus (SBAV)

Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus is an emergency solution that may cause data loss in specific situations. Do not use this tool until all other options have been exhausted.

Once the virus outbreak has been contained and eliminated from your network, please delete the downloaded program and destroy the CD. If you need to use SBAV again in the future, Sophos Technical Support will be happy to provide you with a link to a newer version of the tool.

Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus cannot scan encrypted disks.

Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus may not work with all processor types. If you encounter problems booting the affected PC, try the CD on a different PC. If it boots up, then the chipset is not supported: unfortunately, we cannot add additional chipset support to the tool.

norton anti-virus

(n.) brand of anti-virus that while being very good, disables all the script kiddie hacktools I was playing with, and does not have a simple off button.
Trying to turn off norton anti-virus takes up many hours of my time (I would assume from previous attempts).

Antivirus

An ISP answer to the virus they sent you last week.
The only 100% effective Antivirus is the 'OFF' button.

God Shot

A chance happening with profound meaning, an unexpected blessing, a "sign".
Dr. Drew on Celebrity Rehab said "All of a sudden what had been just another Hollywood proposal became for him an unexpected blessing, an opportunity for growth. In drug recovery language, that's called a "God shot."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.
