Writer: “I’ve got a movie idea! Let’s do the moon landing, except all the astronauts are morbidly obese paraplegic non-binary Muslim Australian aboriginals!”

Director: “Brilliant! This is your best idea since we won that Oscar for ‘D-Dayversity’, the story about the Normandy invasion except with all autistic pansexual transgender Kalahari bushpeople. You can wokewash like nobody I’ve ever seen!”

In TV and cinema media, the use of modern the interpretations of social justice and racial intersectionality to justify the changes to an established media product to correct previously "insensitive, racist, or problematic" themes, characters, and/or plot devices; with the end result being that the new product is subjectively more racist and insensitive, destroys established canon of, and is inferior to the original media.

Did you see Gren in that shitty-ass Netflix adaptation?! His character was woke washed to the point of being irrelevant.

When the Free Palestine community hijack woke causes such as police brutality or climate change. It’s the act of taking over another cause with your own cause that is unrelated to the original cause.

Marching with Palestinian flags at the woman’s rally is an example of wokewashing.

The act of trying to update the image or perception of a product, or service by changing it to include social justice, racial justice, lgbtq and DEI themes (among others) to replace traditional imagery or views that are considered problematic by the progressive left.

Bud Light lost billions in their failed attempt to woke-wash their beer's image by hiring trans-activist Dylan Mulvaney for their new ad campaign.

Using woke idiology to justify actions or positions you would otherwise find immoral or wrong, or to gain an advantage over a member of a non-protected class.

1. Bruce initially felt wrong about taking all the credit for Ted's work, but he wokewashed it with the rationale that "straight white men have been stealing for hundreds of years, so now it's my turn".

2. Beth is really wokewashing Ted lately - every time he tries to raise concerns with her proposal, she accuses him of "mansplaining" and shuts him down.
