workplace bait and switch

When you are hired by an organization and are told that your position is one big adventure to get you to accept less pay but it turns out to be a boring assignment that is much less interesting and glamorous.
I was charmed and brown-nosed all through the interview and then hired to do the work of a near-god, but I quickly discovered that I was the newest victim of their workplace bait and switch scam.

Bait and Switch

The policy used by Bell Mobility to get more money out of their customers. They will *bait* you in with offers of really good stuff, then switch the offers around behind your back, often with the excuse of "that was just a promotion" or "you must have changed it yourself"
Bell: We'll give you this really good plan.
You: I'll take it.
*bill arrives without the really good plan*
You: DAMNIT

Bait And Switch

Someone who seems to be "God's gift from heaven" at first but as soon as anything becomes official (I.e. Marriage or signing a roommate lease) they suddenly reveal their true personalities (typically incredibly condescending and/or crazy)
He seemed so perfect until he moved in, then he turned batshit crazy. Typical bait and switch.

the sneaky bait and switch

When someone is passed out drunk you take their underwear off and shit in them and then slip them back on the unconscious individual. When they come-to they'll think they shit themselves.Naturally, everyone involved will taunt and tease the unfortunate one as if he really had pooped his/her shorts.
While my roommate was passed out,we dis the sneaky bait and switch on him.

bait and switch

the term can also be used for a relationship when a girl or guy "advertises" her or himself as being something s/he's not and in the end ends up being a shoddier "product" -- a lesser person than was originally promoted.
for example a guy might start out being really attentive to a girl he wants to go out with: lots of emails, text messages, dates, flowers etc... and then once the girl has committed to the guy in some way he turns off the attention and hardly ever calls, no more flowers, hard to get hold of etc...
duped Girl 1: Todd hasn't called me in a week; he used to call twice a day.
Girl 2: Sounds like he did a bait and switch on you.

Moderate Bait and Switch

When a candidate for political office, runs a political campaign portraying themselves to the public as being political moderate then where the candidate actually stands on various political issues in an effort to broaden their appeal to a larger group of voters.

Upon winning the political office the candidate ran for, the new elected Politician then reveals themselves to the public to be a partisan hardliner who instead of working with both parties, toes the political party line that they are affiliated with. Often pushing for policies that the party they affiliated with wants regardless of what they pledged on the campaign trail.
Despite portraying himself as not being a partisan hardliner during the General Election campaign, Senator Smith pulled a Moderate Bait and Switch on the voters of the state that elected him and proceeded to vote in favor of policies he said he would not support on the campaign trail
