Johnny was well known for his irrational and sometimes violent reaction to everyday setbacks. He was a real shoeburner.

Spoonburner

A derogatory term for a supporter of Hibernian FC (Football Club). The term originally referred to an abuser of heroin, as in, how the drug was “cooked” on a spoon. The cross reference to Hibernian FC is due to the content of the Irvine Welsh novel Trainspotting (and movie) which was primarily based in and around the Leith area which is home to Hibernian FC.

From Leith are you? You must be spoonburner then.
