An event, discussion, or meeting so boring it causes one to extemporaneously nap.

I was hoping to witness some fistfights at my family reunion, but it turned our to be a snoozefest.

A collective term for when a group of people (e.g. family, work colleagues) who are co-located suffer from a bad cold that results in copious sneezing and excessive nasal mucus.

Basically, a festival of snot.

We were supposed to go to Alton Towers at the weekend but the family had a snotfest so we had to cancel.

spoonfest 

1.Created Sep. 2005 in Georgia, Spoonfest is a semi-annual event, featuring live music performances,partying, camping, dancing, swimming, mayhem, ect.
Held at the end of March and September to celebrate the fall and spring birthdays of the two Spoon brothers.
2. a wild or chaotic gathering of inebriated young people.

snazfest 

(noun) An upbeat, lively social gathering, often involving music.

People at these gatherings are often of the older, more "refined crowd". This festival can attribute its name to the adjective snazzy, or the noun snaz.

Tammy knew something wasn't right. Her attire certainly didn't allow her to mingle with the others at the snazfest.

My snazfest will be the talk of the town.

It was a snazfest until the cover band played Lenny Kravitz.
