shockbait
Similar to clickbait, except the text and/or image in question tries to shock the viewer with something that can easily be interpreted as NSFW, NSFL, or against TOS, but technically isn't.
Scout: *holds up magazine saying "Phild Corn"* what's this?

A group of friends who while standing around talking or hanging out, often casually sneak up on each other and bite each other's shoulders in a friendly manner.
"Damn I hate that shoulbit clique. I used to hang out with them but I got a scar on my shoulder from them."

Shortbait
A form of baiting where complex, nuanced, well-argued positions are met with the shortest possible responses, often combined with gaslighting or patholighting. Hours of writing, careful reasoning, cited sources—met with "lol no," "touch grass," "seek help," or "too long didn't read." The goal is to refuse engagement entirely while implying that the very act of making a complex argument is pathological. Shortbait communicates: your effort is ridiculous, your thinking is broken, you care too much. It's a power move that positions the baiter as above it all, too cool for thought, too sane for caring. The length of the response inversely correlates with its dismissiveness.
Shaanbait
A synonym for Ragebait but it is primarily used by people who have a small dose of Indian ancestry or heritage, and it is used for less annoying ragebait in general.
Person 1 (Tony who is 2% Indian): The sky is green right now wtf.
Person 2 (guy named Jack): bro are you stupid no its not.
Tony: Lol bro fell for the shaanbait.

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
