Shingaurds used in Football (soccer if you live in the US), as said by a very british official. Usually used in conjunction with other british phraises. Prominently featured in the Schwann's USA cup.

Shinnie

A shinnie is a person who has identity and self esteem issues and has little to no communication skills. Shinnies tend to deny what they are and to run away from their problems instead of confronting them. Shinnies are also sad losers who are creeps and weirdos.

Shinnie, or Shinji kinnie is a person who kins the character Shinji Ikari from neon genesis evangelion. Usually has some sort of past related trauma with personal image, disassociation from the real world, feeling as though no matter what they do they can never make anyone happy, or something related to loosing a loved one and feeling as though it’s their fault. Usually very fruity or a homosexual.
-being called a shinnie would not be positive.
-often used as an inside joke by evangelion fans.
