on island

What nantucket red and tank top wearing male wasps refer to as going to the island of Nantucket. These males typically roam in packs on island looking for smokeshows.
"Dude, what do you have going on this weekend?" "Big guy, I'll be on island with all the smokeshows, gonna be aggressive."

"Bro! I'm on island! Just took the fast ferry this morning...heading to Surfside later to get blackout!!"

"Guys, I'm heading on island... got my neon colored shades, neon colored tank top, chest hair in the breeze... Ain't no party like a party on island..."

We're gonna have fun on this island

A quote from Lord Of The Flies. Simon, a nearly mute character who is very in touch with nature and at peace with himself, suffers a hallucination at the top of a jungle mountain on an island. He stares at a (real) pig's head impaled on a stick and imagines that he hears it taunting him and daring him to hope for rescue.
Person Being Hugged: "Dude, let go. I have to get back to work."

Hugger: "No! We're gonna have fun on this island!"

Monkeys on an Island

It refers to a friend group that's so close or tight that they tend to or want to date people inside thier friend group regardless of their relationship status. Which could cause drama and unwanted history.
Person 1: Wanna hang out with them more?

Person 2: Nah bro they have that monkeys on an Island relationship.

Person 1: Monkeys on an Island?

Person 2: They tend to date people inside their friend group. I don't feel comfortable being apart of that.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
