Shines like a diamond in a goat's ass
To say: "Shines like a diamond in a goat's ass" is to provide high praise for something or someone. A harsh term, it is often used by men in the working trades. A star baseball player on a mediocre team could be said to "shine like a diamond in a goat's ass." Often, the phrase is used as a compliment for a really nice car or motorcycle. Ironically, it would not be appropriate to compliment a diamond ring or other jewelry with this phrase. (Body piercings excepted.)

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
