Kopay

1. Town in Jaffna District, Northern Sri Lanka. Economy largely based on agriculture and trade.

2. Slang term for an ugly and promiscuous woman. Originated in the Sri Lankan Army after their routing of LTTE terrorists. For some reason the native women were deemed ugly, desperate and promiscuous. From then on it spread and became a term to describe a woman with an unattractive appearance or a woman of the night.

1. Kopay is a town in Jaffna district with the highest per capita rate of STDs and unmarried teenage pregnancies in Sri Lanka.

2. Kopay Vesi, Kopay Balli. Sinhala - Ugly Bitch, Ugly whore.

To drive straight into a parking space, improbably available right outside the place you were headed, even though this is normally totally impossible to do.

The 70s television detective Kojak routinely did this in every episode, parking in front of the courthouse, the police station, the trendiest nightclub in town...anywhere.

I went shopping last night and was expecting a lot of trouble parking, but I found a space right in front of the shop. I kojaked!

Kobayashi Maru

A no-win situation caused by a set of rules that can only be won by changing the rules, in effect, cheating. This term comes from the name of a small ship in distress in a scenario shown in a Star Trek movie. According to the film, the scenario is featured in a training simulator for students attempting to become ship's captains. They receive a distress signal from the Kobayashi Maru and can either attempt to rescue it and be destroyed by enemy forces or leave it and let it be destroyed. James T. Kirk, according to the film, is the only person to have won the scenario--by reprogramming the simulator. Kobayashi Maru, loosely translated, means "Little wooden ship."

Someone experiencing a Kobayashi Maru can be said to be between a rock and a hard place.
