Jochen comes from the hebrew word Jojakim or Jojachin meaning "raisede by Jahwe". It signifies that this person is loyal, honest, brave and good. In fact, Jojakim was the ancient king of Juda and the father of Jojachin. In the German speaking area this name became very popular during the 16th and 17th century.
