gubernator

A ruler or governor. From the Latin gubernatus.
Also, the helmsman or pilot of a boat.

This is a word from Roman times and was NOT coined for Schwarzenegger.
An example appears in a 19th century poem by Oliver Wendell Holmes, "Contentment" -

I'm very sure I should not care
To fill our Gubernator's chair.

Gubernational

1) of or pertaining to a president or the office of a president.

2) a derivative of gubernatorial. However, instead of pertaining to a state governor, it pertains to a president, hence the word "national."
The 2012 election will be sooooooo long! It'll Probably just be two straight years of assholes taking up regularly scheduled television programing for their elitist gubernational debates.

gubernatorial

Of, or referring to a governor. This word is exceptionally weird, because it should be governorial or something. Like, when we elect a President, it's called a Presidential election, NOT a Presibentorial election.
"It's funny the way Arnold Schwartzneggar pronounces gubernatorial."

gubernaculum

Oversimplifying anatomy: Gubernaculum is the name of a ligament that balls are hanged on. The word is used to sarcastically describe a wired thing or as a nickname of a wired person.
