fadtivist

Noun: a person or company who engages in whatever socio-economic, political, philantropic cause is being heavily promoted by the public in general as a fad for the given time.

Fadtivists love to appear loud and proud about whatever cause that will make them appear in a superior light, or simply generate more revenue for the company.

Fadtivists can be spotted at times by comparing the societal or economic privilege they think they have with those they are advocating for. It can come in any civil rights flavor involving perceived injustices.
In the final season of the HBO sitcom, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Ted Danson was protesting injustices to Larry David regarding the Georgia voting law. However, Larry knew it was Ted being a fadtivist to improve his own public image to land better acting roles.

Budweiser placing a pride flag on their Bud Light cans during pride month was a fadtivist move just like all the other major companies doing the same thing to drive up sales.

When an activist (namely Jason Russell) faps in public, thus discrediting anything this "faptivist" ever stood for and bringing about the demise of his campaign.
Kony2012 supporter: I really identify with Jason Russell's cause to catch Kony by the end of 2012!

Learned individual: You must be feelin' salty to support faptivism

Factinista

A person, or group of people, who spend their lives telling others what is or is not a fact, based on what they have read in books.

Coined by Steven Colbert during a brilliant monologue at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Ladies and gentlemen of the press corps, Madame First Lady, Mr. President, my name is Stephen Colbert and tonight it's my privilege to celebrate this president. We're not so different, he and I. We get it. We're not brainiacs on the nerd patrol. We're not members of the factinista. We go straight from the gut, right sir? That's where the truth lies, right down here in the gut. Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you have in your head? You can look it up. I know some of you are going to say "I did look it up, and that's not true." That's 'cause you looked it up in a book.

Fauxtivist

A social "movement" brought to attention through internet memes and word of mouth that has almost no validity in the real world and will become passe in a matter of months.
Common sense person: "let's go occupy the apple store, they are a money grubbing corporation, right?"
Hipster douchebag: "Occupy apple? I need my iphone to pass along all the latest fads. Besides occupy is so 2011, it's all about Kony 2012!"
Common sense person: "you're just buying into the latest fad. You're such a hipster fauxtivist"

Faktivist

A contraction of the words "Facebook" and "activist". A hashtag warrior who truly believes that their likes on pictures donate money to poor kids in 'Africa'.

Can also refer to a person whom honestly believes their hashtags can magically take human form to fight for human rights, and that Boko Haram (aka Trey Songz) will bring their girls back.
Noun: There go them faktivists again. Sorry Nigeria, I will not bring back your girls.

Verb: Yo, can someone tell Lucy to stop faktivising. Trey Songz ain't bringing your girls back. #ItsMrStealYourGirl
