Comic Book

A short 22-44 page book with art panels and speech bubbles, usually with superheroines and such. Usually separated into many individual issues and then collected into trade paperbacks when the stories are done.

Despite what the other descriptions say they are not incredibly sexist or misogynistic.

Comic books have been around for a long time but really started to be known in 1938 with Action Comics #1, or the first appearance of Superman. Since then comic books have been expanding and growing through different companies and brands.

You can find comics at your LCS (Local Comic Store), most of the time the people will be helpful and happy to help you find what you want. Support your local LCS everybody!

Comic Book Feel

A new term used to describe incredible highs. Comic book feel can be used when the world around you starts to look like a comic book, cartoon/anime, videogame or just plain ridiculous. Comic book feel is very common when smoking around bodies of water at night, since they tend to exaggerate the high. Comic book feel, the term, was created at Jamaica Pond in Boston, MA on a stormy night when all at once the world felt like a comic book.
"Hey, you down for smoking at the pond tonight?" "Of course! I'm always down for getting that comic book feel."

comic book guy

(noun)

Anyone that has the characteristics of the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. Some characteristics include:
- arguing excessively (especially on Internet forums) over, for example, minute details about some minor point or the way Spock exhaled as he spoke from the 34th episode of the original Star Trek series from 1950 whatever.
- informing someone of something (like a software release) the moment it happens. "You should be informed Microsoft has released another minor update patch for the Internet Connection Wizard for Windows 95."
- insisting that their interpretation of any given topic is the correct one, with a twist of role playing games and choose-your-own adventure book titles to back their point up.
- fat arsed/ugly with no women in their life except for the mother, sister(s) or pr0n.
- skinny arsed with trimmed facial hair, glasses and a pony tail.
- always has the fastest Internet connection going and is constantly downloading something illegal from the latest p2p or file swarming network.
- doesn't like another person you class as a comic book guy (as comic book guys don't get on because they argue each other in circles and compete to download the latest video driver updates first then email them to the other one)
I left my MSN on auto file accept accidentally and went out. When I got home this comic book guy on my list had sent me about a hundred files he had downloaded off bit torrent. Most of it was pr0n or pictures of wizards from role play games.

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.
