Bedwarmer is an entry level career. No real skill is needed, some
people are better at it than others, those who have naturally hot body temperatures are
good at this. This job involves, warming other peoples beds, so
people can
jump straight into a warm bed. The hours of
work are particularly limited, normally between 8pm and 10pm each evening. Earnings are also limited, "if I warm a bed in Leeds and then have to drive 10
miles/kilometers to the next house, I may only make £20. Other nights I might
get 3 in one house, then I'm quids in!" Said Ken 48 Bedwarmer and part time Cabin Maker. With the price of fuel it can be demoralising. Bed warming takes a minimum of 20 minutes, its quicker the more flesh is exposed, most professionals wear swimwear. No companies currently provide this service, so all those working as Bedwarmers are self employed. It can be considered illegal as often many workers are paid cash in hand, hence the reason it's more underground and finding a good one is difficult. Theres a group on
facebook campaigning for Bedwarmer rights, with the hope of care agencies promoting this as a career in the future.
