Symptoms of Avoidant Personality Disorder can include:
-Extreme sensitivity to criticism or
rejection, even if done in a nice
way
-Social isolation, due to only hanging out with people who
will accept them and avoiding people who are critical
-
Fear of conflict; not voicing complaints, lest the subject(s) of the complaint react harshly
-Extremely low self-esteem; lower than that of a person suffering from depression
-Crippling shyness
-Being easily embarrassed or flustered
-Over-explaining a
lot to avoid any potential misunderstandings
-Being unresponsive to any forms of communication (particularly verbal communication), especially if they are unhappy with someone, or vice versa
-Having
trouble asking for help
-Extreme indecisiveness
Mental and personality disorders are different for everyone, but it doesn't make them any less serious.
