Driving While Black (DWB) is the name given to the non-existent "crime" of being a black driver, and is generally a racial profiling employed by many police forces. It is a parody of the real crime driving while intoxicated.
It refers to the idea that a motorist can be pulled over by a police officer simply because he or she is black and then charged with a trivial or perhaps non-existent offense.
1) Meghan Markle was "Royalling While Black", so we have to add that to the "While Black" list.
2) "Royalling While Black" was cool with The British Royal Family until Prince Harry and Meghan conceived baby Archie.
A term to describe an assumption of suspicion by race, generally when referring to interaction with law enforcement though it can be used to describe any situation whereby a person is stereotypically profiled.
In the eyes of Derek Chauvin, George Floyd's crime was Breathing While Black. As Chauvin suffocated Floyd for more than nine minutes, ending his life, Floyd's last words were "I can't breathe", a phrase which became a rallying cry for justice.
Unwanted cellular phone calls at odd times that are usually the result of an African-American caller who lacks phone ettiquette. They usually ask for someone in a terse tone or claim, or insist, that you called them first without identifying themselves. Caused by poor eyesight, dyslexia, confusion, given a false number at a club, etc. does not bother to save frequently called numbers into their cell phone contacts.
I got another "dialing while black" call on my personalcell phone. She claimed I called her first and when I told her my number she hung-up. Or, some obviously-impared black guy just called me asking for Sheniqua. I told him there was no Sheniqua here and he hung-up abruptly, another "dialing while black" call.
