Shortinic

A term generally used in referance to someone who acts stupid on purpose in order to make thereselves look cool.

Pronounced: Shore-Tin-Ick

Like when a person gets a joke perfectly but says that stupid, "Whahh..." to look cool and make people laugh. But everyone knows thats what there doing and they say, "Dude. Your being shortinic. Knock it the fuck off. Your not cool. You know what? Just leave dude. Just leave. Everybody who wants Mr. Shortinic to leave, raise your hand." And everyone raises there hand.

Step 1) Fill enema bag with vodka or gin.
Step 2) Fill your sexual partner's anus with liquor enema, then sodomize him/her on an unbalanced wahsing machine.

shorting a stock

taking an investment position that will benefit if the value of the stock goes down. Traditionally, "shorting a stock" means borrowing shares of stock from another broker, selling them, then buying them back (after the price has fallen) in order to return the stocks to the broker from whom they were borrowed.

You can short a stock using a derivative; this can include buying futures in the stock (i.e., a contract to sell someone else the stocks); or buying a put option (also called a put). A third way is to write a call (i.e., a call option, also known as a call) for the stock.

Shorting a stock usually requires a great deal of skill and courage; even the most talented short will only make money during rare crises.

Shortlining

When you're talking to someone (mostly takes place in online chat conversations) and all they do is respond with the very annoying, aggravating word "Okay." Hence "shortlining." It usually happens when you're talking about something important too.

Joe: Hey how was your day?
Gary: Okay.
Joe: Well, today I went cruising with that girl I like ;)
Gary: Ok.
Joe: ... Well after I got to know her I finally confessed my feelings to her and she said she felt the same way!
Gary: Good.
Joe: ... You know what? Quit shortlining me and fuck you dude if you're not interested.
