Piece of ScHmITt

Any kind of plagiarized writing by persons of power. Term coined after the doctoral thesis of Hungarian President Pal Schmitt. A Piece of ScHmITt can be distinguished from other forms of plagiarism by the author’s reliance on political or other means of control to circumvent standards and avoid being held accountable once their fraud is exposed.
Dude 1: Have recently found out that our head of department plagiarized my father’s writing.
Dude 2: Sure, but it’s a Piece of ScHmITt, so there’s nothing you can do about it.

My dear students, don't ever think of schmittifying as in this place it has serious consequences.

An instance when a person truly believes that their statement was original and states the obvious after immediately being told the same information from a peer.
After giving an update to my boss I was schmitt'd by Aaron who said the exact same things that I said. Thanks for taking adding no value to the conversation and taking all the credit.

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.
