The act of assuming a new member of your running club is new to the sport of running and minimizing their answers to questions about their background.
For example; if they say they haven't done any races in a while a runsplaining person may assume it's been a few years but maybe it's been just a few months. If they say they are not running as much as they used to, the runsplaining person may assume they are running a minimal amount when in fact it could still be serious mileage.
